Tell Us Who You're Voting for and Why - In Five Sentences

by Rachel Held Evans Read Distraction Free

Okay, for the next 48 hours, I’m opening the floor to anyone who wants to share their thoughts on the big 2008 presidential election.

Here are the rules:

1.You must explain your pick for president in five sentences or less.

2.You get a bonus sentence if you say something GENUINELY positive and respectful about the opposing candidate(s).

3.In deference to Jesus’ teachings in Matthew 5:22, calling a candidate (or another member of this community) a name is strictly off-limits.  Popular insults during this cycle include “Socialist,” “terrorist,” “baby-killer,” “idiot,” “war-monger,” “sidekick,” etc.  If you plan to use such terminology, you can do it on someone else’s blog.

Comments that do not conform to these rules will be deleted…because I’m the boss of my blog, so I get to make the rules and enforce them. :)

After 48 hours, I promise to post about a topic completely unrelated to politics, so that we can finally move on with our lives and talk about something else for a change!

I look forward to your participation, and as always, welcome all points of view, as long as they are respectful. I’ll add my comment first.
