Information on my book cover, Vaginagate, and other pressing matters

Well, we’ve finally settled on a cover for my new book, A Year of Biblical Womanhood: How a Liberated Woman Found Herself Sitting on Her Roof, Covering Her Head, and Calling Her Husband Master

I like it...although I’m a wee bit concerned about the weight of my post-book body crushing that sweet little house and reducing it to a pile of rubble. A year of Jewish holidays takes a while to burn off, people.

Amazon hasn’t updated the new image yet, but the good news is that if you pre-order now, you’ll get a pretty sweet deal at $6.59The official release date is set for October 30, 2012, which, believe it or not, is just a few days before the presidential election...so Republican friends, you may want to consider pre-ordering before you’ve started hating my guts.

For those of you who have been following “Vaginagate”:  My editor has asked me to clarify the fact that Lifeway has yet to see the manuscript, and so the initial recommendation to remove the word “vagina” was hers, not theirs. Based on reader response, I have asked Thomas Nelson to put the word “vagina” back in, so we can see how Lifeway and other Christian bookstores respond to it.  (For another author’s perspective on all of this, check out Caryn Rivadeneira’s excellent article at Her.Meneutics.)

As always, thanks so much for your encouragement and support!
